The CONOCER reports excellent results during the first semester of 2011

According to data given by the National Council of Standardization and Certification of Labor Competences (CONOCER), in the last four and a half years, more than 240,000 persons have been certified in a competence around the country. In average, 54,000 persons receive a certification per year.

During a magisterial conference that took place in the state of Puebla, given in association with the Department of Competitiveness, Work and Economic Development of the state of Puebla, Sergio García Bullé García, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the CONOCER informed that the institution that he leads has already 82 Competences Management Committees for each sector.

The Competences Management Committees for each sector (CMC) are groups of entrepreneurs, workers, educators and public servants organized to define a human capital agenda for the competitiveness of each sector and are in charge of defining and developing the Competence Standards.

Nowadays there are CMCs in sectors like: construction, education, social, restaurants, logistic, commerce, foreign commerce, automotive, information technologies and tourism.

Also there are 131 Competence Standards in the mentioned sectors. Although exist 500 more Competence Standards in a virtual library which are available for updating them by the same sectors.

Until now, 52 prestige institutions have been declared with "authorization", meaning that they have permission, granted by the CONOCER to evaluate and certify competences in Mexico. There are institutions like: associations of different productive sectors, educational, public and private institutions.
